When the Occupy Movement established legal camps on public property in Eugene, OR, it set a precedent for another category of citizens in desperate need for such amenities: the homeless, now more and more referred to as "the Unhoused". As part of a collective push, Pastor Dan Bryant, Minister at the First Christian Church of Eugene, OR spearheaded the creation of villages of tiny houses as transitional housing to get as many as possible off the streets. His organization "Square One Villages" has achieved tremendous results since the approval by the City of Eugene of its first village in 2012: Opportunity Village.
