What happens when you break a tooth, or otherwise have dentistry issues in the U.S. and have no insurance for it? If it's the case, you're probably not made of money either. Well, you have three options: 1. You sell whatever it takes to fix your teeth. 2. You don't fix your teeth. 3. You go somewhere that won't charge an arm and both kidneys to take proper care of your teeth. It was theory for us until recently, until Gerard bit into a hard piece of chocolate out of the fridge. The learning curve was steep but boy did we learn! We don't fully realize how bad we're being gouged by the American healthcare system until we cross the Southern border (and YES: it applies to Canadians as well: for them, it's the next border over). The road was worth it: gorgeous landscapes but also a level of emancipation from the domestic greed machine.
