When Liz Ward and her husband Glenn founded BumbleBar in 1995, their goal was to provide healthy, delicious, organic and gluten-free nutrition in an easy to pack format (theirs were the very first certified organic food bars). They also wanted to be as ethical as possible, sourcing from family farms with which they would establish lasting relationships. But they didn’t stop there. They not only participated in the international “Fair Trade” movement, making sure to pay equitable prices for organic produce from developing nations; they also re-invested part of their profits into local welfare and education programs. How can one make a profit while being so generous? Simply by working with love and caring as central values and reaping the rewards that always come when steadfastly contributing to the world’s betterment.
